Purpose and learning objectives

This course will provide you with a basic knowledge of GIS and cartography. You will learn how to use digital methods to capture data, create maps and make analyses in a GIS. After completing the course you will be able to present and apply the knowledge both in theory and in practice.

Content and teaching methods

A strong emphasis is placed on the analysis and interpretation of geographical information. The theoretical knowledge surrounding geographical information is dealt with through seminars and exercises. During the course you will complete a number of projects dealing with several different thematic topics, forms of data capture and analysis.
