In the First Cycle the Stockholm University Department of Human Geography offers programmes and separate courses. The language of instruction in all programmes and most of the courses is Swedish. Education clearly reflects the research and active researchers teach at all levels. In the First Cycle students will meet both very experienced teachers and young academics.

The Department is relatively small – which provides good conditions for excellent relations between students and between students, teachers and other staff. On the other hand the Department is large enough to offer courses and tuition in a wide spectrum. The Department offers a good and stimulating learning environment. Field courses and excursions are priority elements in teaching. Paper and thesis writing is a central part in education.
