Collaboration

Collaboration with associations, businesses, municipalities, government agencies and other organizations in Sweden and abroad are an obvious and important part of research and education. We collaborate with schools, municipalities, regions, companies, associations and individuals, but also with other universities, institutions and institutes, in Sweden and abroad.

The department's researchers participate in discussions about important social issues and answer questions from the media.

During field courses, guest lectures, more applied courses and project work researchers and teachers, students and practitioners’ meets. At conferences, in editorial boards and expert groups researchers and practitioners work together.

Former students (alumni) are key contacts between practice and academia. Several alumni are mentors for today’s students within the University mentor programme. In the framework of the Stockholm University Alumni Network a group for human geography and urban and regional planning is organized.

Researchers at the Department sometimes give public lectures and excursions for school classes.
