The Department is a dynamic research setting with three research profiles, namely Urban and Regional Planning: Environment, Gender and Equity; Historical Geography and Landscape Studies; and Population Geography, Migration and GIS. The Department employs approximately 50 people, 25 of whom are academic staff and 20 doctoral students. The number of students during one year is about 500 including 100 master programme students. The Department forms part of the Faculty of Social Sciences and is located in the Geo-Science Building on the Stockholm University main campus.
